Our team specializes in looking at a manufacturer’s business model to determine how the local, state, and federal governments can maximize profit with policy-based solutions. We routinely advise some of the largest manufacturers in the country on issues around trade, market access, immigration, and other policy areas so they can operate more efficiently.
The Vogel Group worked with one of the largest international tier-one auto parts manufacturers to help navigate various issues related to the company’s business operations in the United States.
First, to help facilitate a seamless transition of their international workforce to their domestic assets, our team advocated for timely consideration of visas and immigration exceptions, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Second, the client was planning to reshore manufacturing operations from other geographies as a means to domesticate their global supply chain—this required due diligence and direct advocacy around foreign direct investment and market viability for those manufacturing operations. Our team conducted rigorous analysis around the American supply chain, the potential for new customers, workforce availability, energy costs, taxation, government incentives, distribution partners, and other fundamental aspects of the investment decision-making process. By leveraging both our consulting and government relations skill sets, we were able to help the company grow its customer base, lower its overall cost and build its brand as an American manufacturer.
