Nikhil Dhingra is a Director at the Vogel Group.

For nearly half a decade, Nikhil has been a powerful advocate for companies across dozens of industries to achieve their goals in Washington. With strong relationships across the House Democratic Caucus, Nikhil has served as an effective political operative to craft and executive government and public affairs strategies. Through his strategic counsel, Nikhil’s clients have been able to effectively navigate the political ecosystem, enabling them to access to millions of dollars in federal funding and develop coalitions of support within the halls of Congress. His understanding of the intersection between private industry and political affairs enables him to connect his clients’ issues with broader political trends, allowing them to expand both their market share and revenue growth. Having forged relationships with key stakeholders on both sides of the aisle, Nikhil’s proven track record has allowed him to connect companies with policymakers most relevant to their interests.

Throughout his career, Nikhil has sought to bring a new perspective to the most hot-button issues on the Hill. He has remained at the forefront of the debate on Ukraine, successfully drafting a bipartisan letter to the Development Finance Corporation (DFC) to increase the agency’s investments in critical energy infrastructure in the region. Despite the hesitancy surrounding breakthrough therapy treatments for veterans, Nikhil has expanded support for rescheduling these treatments from two to 15 bipartisan members of Congress in less than a year.

At the Vogel Group, Nikhil has advocated on behalf of companies operating in the tax, manufacturing, health care, and energy policy sphere. Nikhil has taken a keen interest in emerging technologies, as he seeks to align the ever-expanding industry development of AI technology with the newly formed regulatory blueprints in both Congress and the Biden Administration.

Outside of the firm, Nikhil has remained engaged in Washington’s political scene — he is a proud member of the Electing a Democratic Generation (EDGE) fundraising group and the Asian American Pacific Islander Lobbying Association (AAPILA).

Prior to joining Vogel Group, Nikhil served as an Associate at Michael Best Strategies, where he conducted legislative and regulatory research for clients in the energy, healthcare, and transportation sectors. Nikhil also supported the firm’s procurement practice, developing opportunity trackers that identified relevant RFIs and RFPs for clients. Nikhil started his career on the Hill as a Legislative Intern in the Office of Congressman Mike Quigley (D-IL), where he conducted research related to environmental and immigration issues and assisted with communications to constituents.

A Chicago native, Nikhil graduated with honors from Cornell University in May 2020 with a B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations and a minor in Law & Society. During his senior year, Nikhil successfully completed and defended his honors thesis on the impact of sanctuary city policies in New York State.

As a second-generation Indian American, Nikhil maintains strong ties to his family in Indore. Nikhil continually champions the interests of U.S.-India trade through his client engagements.
