Callie Eideberg is a well-regarded policy expert on agriculture, land conservation, water policy and environmental issues. She is known for her ability to work with both political parties and her direct approach to tackling tough issues. She joined the Vogel Group as a Principal to help clients navigate the complexities of Washington and reach their business goals.
Most recently, Callie served as Senior Professional Staffer to Senator Debbie Stabenow, Chair of the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry Committee. On the Committee, Callie led the environmental, conservation and climate portfolio. She directed a dynamic team to increase federal investments, improve policy and reduce bureaucracy. She also successfully advocated for the Chair’s interests in the Inflation Reduction Act and the Growing Climate Solutions Act, and directed internal, bipartisan title negotiations during consideration of the 2023 and 2024 Farm Bills.
Prior to her time in the Senate, Callie led agriculture policy and political outreach at the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF). She developed successful bipartisan strategies to advance sustainable and climate friendly agricultural practices, increase agricultural productivity, and protect the long-term viability and prosperity of farms and rural communities. At EDF, she founded the Food and Agriculture Climate Alliance, a bipartisan coalition of commodity and environmental stakeholders focused on achievable climate policy. Her expertise was frequently sought by reporters and policymakers alike. In 2021, she was called to testify in front of the House Committee on Agriculture as an expert witness on carbon markets in the agriculture sector. Under President Obama, Callie joined the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a specialist in congressional relations, preparing candidates for Senate nominations and Congressional hearings. She later served as Senior Advisor to the Chief of the Natural Resources Conservation Service where she oversaw the development of new programs, including the implementation of the 2014 Farm Bill conservation title and management of key allies and stakeholders.
Callie began her career working in the House of Representatives for multiple members of the House Committee on Agriculture. She developed a deep love for agriculture and food policy as well as a keen understanding of congressional procedure and dealmaking.
Callie earned a B.A. from Western Kentucky University, a law degree from Tulane University and is barred in Washington D.C. and Kentucky. Callie lives in the District with her husband, two kids and a mercurial cat named Waffles.
