Sam Yntema is a Director at the Vogel Group.

Sam Yntema represents clients on Capitol Hill, before federal agencies, and the White House. His work at the nexus of business and federal policy focuses on climate solutions, energy, tax, trade, financial services, and appropriations issues. He regularly interfaces with congressional staff and other stakeholders on matters affecting clients’ businesses and industries. Sam has a keen understanding of both big picture politics and how the nuances of intersecting forces and interests can drive policy decisions. He maintains strong relationships across the political spectrum and is adept at tailoring clients’ messages to different audiences.

Sam was heavily involved in lobbying for many of the climate policies included in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the Inflation Reduction Act. He possesses a deep understanding of both pieces of legislation and their associated regulations and has particularly strong expertise on CCUS and Section 45Q tax credits.

Sam joined the Vogel Group after serving clients at VH Strategies for three years. Prior to that, he worked for a top 50 global law firm, supporting a corporate litigation and trial practice group of over 140 attorneys. His work there focused on antitrust litigation, government investigations, and international arbitrations. Sam speaks fluent Spanish and holds a B.A. in Philosophy and History from Sewanee: the University of the South.
