Ryan has built long standing relationships and has the knowledge of Tennessee’s political landscape that gives him the ability to deliver results for clients. He brings a wealth of government and public affairs experience at the highest levels and his unquestioned integrity and commitment to relationships make him one of Tennessee’s most trusted lobbyists. Ryan prides himself on promoting sound public policy and honoring Tennessee’s legacy for strong fiscal stewardship.
Before joining Vogel Group, he was the Vice-President of Government Affairs for the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce & Tennessee Manufacturers Association, the state’s leading voice for business and Tennessee’s affiliate for the U.S. Chamber, focusing on state and federal government relations. Ryan began his career at the Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation, then at the state’s largest farm input supply cooperative, Tennessee Farmers Cooperative, where he led the organization’s government and public affairs efforts.
Throughout his career he has helped Tennessee’s largest companies navigate complex policy, political, and operational matters and has been instrumental in securing millions of dollars on behalf of those he represents. At the Tennessee General Assembly, he has advocated for sound tax policy, free market principles, pro-business values, a pro-growth economy, and a wealth of other principles which have made Tennessee one of the best states in the country to do business. Ryan’s farm upbringing taught him the value of working hard for results and his strong agriculture background give him a rich understanding of complex energy, environment, and natural resource policy.
Ryan received his Bachelor’s Degree from Middle Tennessee and his Master’s Degree from the University of Tennessee. He and his wife, Amy live in Franklin, TN with their two kids, Lincoln and Mary Grace.
